San Francisco Municipal-Railway – operates a mass transit system
throughout the city, 24 hours a day. Adult fare $1.50; seniors/students
.50¢; children under 5 free; $5 for cable cars all passengers. One-ride
fare with transfer good for two changes on all MUNI lines except Cable
Cars within the time indicated on transfer. Exact change is required.
Important: Be sure to have your receipt, transfer or pass to show as
proof of purchase. Routes are too numerous to enable us to include a
fully efficient map. SF Muni site (link above) has printable route maps
and route schedules. Bus shelters also feature route maps and times.
MUNI Route Street Maps are for sale at most drugstores, book stores, and
Hallidie Plaza Info Center. Regular MUNI Metro service runs
6am-midnight. Owl Service motorcoaches replaces L, N, 5, 14, 22, 24, 38,
90 and 91 lines from 1- 5am.
MUNI Passports are available in the following designations: $11...1 -
Day Passport; $18...3 - Day Passport ; $24...7 - Day Passport. Call
415-673-MUNI or check their website for route information, to confirm
prices, and for locations to by Muni Passes.
MUNI Buses operate citywide and are numbered with destination on the
front. Stops are marked by signs, yellow bands and curb markings.
MUNI Metro Street Cars travel underground downtown and on the streets in
outlying neighborhoods. All lines run from Embarcadero Station to Civic
Center Station then split to various destinations. Lines include:
F MARKET – Historic
street cars provide service daily between 6am-midnight along Market
street from Castro through downtown and financial district, and on to
Fisherman's Wharf. Muni's collection of
historic trolleys includes Muni's famed Car No. 1, a genuine New
Orleans "Streetcar Named Desire," and an open "Boat Tram" from England.

AC
Transit offers bus service from the Transbay Terminal located at
First & Mission Streets, San Francisco to various destinations in the
East Bay, Alameda and Contra Costa counties, including Berkeley, and

AMTRAK
Amtrack
Nationwide train service to San Francisco. Connecting point for San
Francisco locations is Emeryville in the East Bay just over the SF
Oakland Bay Bridge. Take Thruway motorcoach to PIER 39, SF Shopping
Centre, Hyatt Regency (Financial District), SF Ferry Building (Market
Street & Embarcadero), and SF International Airport. Check the website

BART
Bay Area Rapid Transit – links San Francisco to East Bay cities of
Berkeley, Oakland, Richmond, Concord, Hayward and Fremont as well as
Daly City, Colma, Millbrae, and SFO to the South. Trains run underground
in SF; signs mark entrances along Market Street from Civic Center to
Embarcadero. Purchase tickets at machines in stations. Wall maps show
routes. Service Mon-Fri 4am-midnight; Sat 6am-midnight; Sun

Train services to the Peninsula and San Jose. Take MUNI Metro line T
from Embarcadero to Caltrain Station at 4th & King Streets.

GOLDEN GATE TRANSIT
Golden Gate Transit provides bus service linking SF to Marin County
cities of Sausalito, Mill Valley, Tiburon and Santa Rosa in Sonoma
County, via the Golden Gate Bridge. In the city, buses stop along Van
Ness, Lombard, Geary, the Financial District, Civic Center and at
